Just like you. Just like me.
We are all the same, but different in many ways. We all listen to music that carries a beat, walk with two feet, and talk with one mouth. The difference between us actually can bring us closer together. When we choose to open our eyes and mind to see that even though your music and my music sound different in essence they are the same.
There are all common threads that make us all as one but it is the individual that changes things to their liking. I am just like you; I walk with two feet, i talk with my mouth and I listen with my ears; we were just born on different days and times. Remember that next time you are walking into a grocery store, entering a club, bar, or what have you. Patience and understanding that we are all just like each other trying to get by in this world.

Im sure everyone remembers how it felt that week after seeing 9/11 plastered before their eyes everywhere for weeks after it happened. There was definitely a general feel of depression in the air and I was definitely ready for some good times with some good people.
I woke the next day to G-Love jammin on the main stage and made my way over. Along the way there was a tent set up with a bunch of people sewing a giant American flag and everyone at the festival was welcome to add to it.
It was pretty touching seeing everyone actually caring about who we are and stitching their little piece into it. This place was starting to take on what I thought was a Woodstock feel about it.
Anyway, I made my way over to the field in front of the main stage and joined in some hacky sack with some of the best players Id ever kicked with while G-Love was jammin in the background and keeping a nice vibe. It was great, until the rain started! It came down pretty hard for the rest of the day, but it really never sent anyone back to their tents or stopped anyone from enjoying the show. I kinda bounced back and forth to check out my favorite bands throughout the day. Which brings me to one of my all time most magical moments...
Blues Traveler took the stage late that afternoon so I made my way through the rain to the stage to check them out. They were jammin as usual when about half way through their set the American flag that the crowd had sewn together was dropped covering the whole back of the stage. I couldnt believe how huge this thing was!
How everyone here had actually made this!
And then, they began playing John Lennons Imagine. This moment was huge! And I kid you not, the next moment was truly amazing!
The clouds opened up, the rain stopped and sun started shining directly on John Popper as he sang the hell out of this song. It was so beautiful the hair on my arms stood up and I got choked up to nearly crying. I could not believe what I was seeing when I had looked up at the sky and saw this perfect opening in the clouds just small enough to let a trickle of sun light through and onto the stage and yet, nowhere else. It shone on John until the last line of the song and the world will be as one...
The clouds closed up.
The sun was gone.
And the rain started once again.
I just stood there in awe....
Chills running through my body knowing I had just experienced magic...

I was digging some music sites and I heard this new guy called MELO. The album is called "Off my Chest" and there is a tune called "Caroline". The music is mellow and very soulful.
Besides of enjoying the mellowness of the tune, I also like the lyrics talking about this inspired guy writing a song to a girl, but in the middle of the process of making the song the girl told him that there's someone else.. hahaha. It's funny yet kind of frustrating and dramatic.
As a musician, I guess that happened to me a couple times hahaha.
Well, all I can say is that sometimes we go faster than we are supposed to be going!

I found it by accident in the library shelves while looking for John Paul II autobiography.
We are not in this lifetime to attach to material posesions and most people now are making this mistake of always wanting more and more. They become empty vasels.
About music, I prefer Opera. I listen to dramatic opera like The Boheme by Pucini. Luciano Pavarotti and Sarah Brightman. Sarah Brightman transports you to a different place through the background and meaning of her theatrical productions.
I'm looking for Leontien Price. She was the first black opera singer. I listen to her sing Ave Maria which I like listening on Christmas mornings.

Recently, a friend turned me on to Amanda Palmer, and her solo album called Who Killed Amanda Palmer? She is also part of the duo known as The Dresden Dolls. She is a pianist, and her music revolves around the piano as the main instrument, with lots of strings, horns, and various orchestral percussion sounds, creating really catchy melodies. She has this low, husky, sometimes breathy voice that cracks and breaks passionately in all the right places. Her lyrics are poetic, filled with gorgeous words depicting anger, sorrow, and the on-the-edge craziness of someone about to explode. She's absolutely fantastic! A female singer-songwriter not afraid to bare her teeth, be bold, and take artistic risks. She is my new favorite!

I just finished reading Come Back: A Mother and Daughter's Journey Through Hell and Back
By Claire Fontaine
This story was great because it was written by both the mother and daughter, and every chapter was from a different perspective. It is a story about an average teenage girl who runs away from home and gets into drugs. Her mother then finds her and sends her to a camp for troubled teens. It talks about the daughter's journey to regaining her life and her mother's journey to not only get her daughter back, but to regain her own life as well. It is a true story and one of the best books I have ever read. It really made me love my mother even more knowing the sacrifices that they make for us.
One CD that never leaves my playlist is Mat Kearney "Nothing Left to Lose" just the way he sings and tells a story through each song makes me feel like he is singing to me. I went to a small venue in Fort Lauderdale to see him in concert. He really connected with the audience and made it seem like he was singing to me and only me. I am sure everyone else felt the same.
I also listen to a lot of different stuff. Hip hop and pop music like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Lil' Wayne, Janet Jackson, Nelly Furtado, 50cent, and Timberlake when I am on the treadmill. I have downloaded a lot of rare acoustic versions of songs and artists like Enigma, Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, and even deep forest when I am relaxing with my ipod. Finally, sometimes when cleaning my house on the weekend, I listen to opera. I don't know why, but it motivates me when I'm cleaning.

Constancy By Robert Oreilly
There is a confort
in the sound
of the latch
making the back door key,
and in your letters to me,
slipped by the postman
into the semi-dry bin
the milkman has seen
and just been to again.
Morning dreams a dry tongue
that leaks teeth
to mouth the word
good morning
and in all this action
it begins again.
Are you certain?
I asked.
I am certain of many things,
you returned,
And am most certain
you are one of them.
